Also, is it just me or is it also that it can be a very lonely process? One may think that the machine analogy fails because they update and restart themselves without any external support – hold on now! – Even your machines need to be plugged in every time it updates and loses its battery power more quickly when it is being updated. We humans, on the other hand, are engaged in several other activities while also trying to keep improving in each one of them. Isn’t it just exhausting!
Each one of us at Mentorshape are constantly empowered by a strong support system of mentors from different walks of life who help us maintain our path towards our goals and provide honest feedback to realign our direction.
We are very passionate about bringing you a platform that reflect our values, experiences and beliefs, engaging you in this process of self-reflection through the process of collaborative mentoring with someone who once walked your path and stood at the same fork you are currently standing at, asking the same questions you are asking today – and if Robert Frost was reflecting’The Road not Taken’ in this decade, he himself would have pulled out his mobile phone, turned on the GPS and taken guidance on what path to take. Or, he would continue being the daredevil who took the path no one has ever traversed , made all the difference by then inspiring those after him in the process – such is the power of mentoring!

Self-development is a difficult process. It’s a continuous, lifelong process. And it has never been more important than today. In this rapidly changing world, skills and mindsets need to be updated just as often as our smartphones, computers or gaming consoles! But you know that already. The novel question I find myself asking is this: is it just me or does it also feel like a very lonely process?
How timely that this pops up on my screen… Even my machine wants time to power out and return updated and refreshed. And look, it does it all by itself. Or does it?
One may think that our laptops and phones update themselves without any external support – but hold on now! Even your machines need to connect to servers to download the latest and greatest in technology. Question is – where do you get your updates from?
Google searches? Forbes articles? Instagram posts?
Are they enough?
Allow me to introduce you to an alternative. Mentorshape. A platform that connects you to a strong support system of mentors. These are people from different walks of life. They can work with you one-on-one, helping you set goals and maintain your path towards them. They can hold up a mirror and provide honest feedback to realign your direction. They can be your cheerleader sometimes and challenge you at others. These are people who once walked your path and stood at the same fork you are currently standing at, asking the same questions you are asking today. And if Robert Frost was reflecting ‘The Road not Taken’ in this decade, he might have pulled out his mobile phone, turned on Google Maps and taken guidance on what path to take. And what does Maps do except show you the paths that thousands of others have traversed before! And even if he – true to character – might have taken the path in front of him that no one has ever traversed and doesn’t show up on Maps, he would have made all the difference by then inspiring many after him in the process. Such is the power of mentoring!
